Full Disclosure

August 29th, 2007 by Patchy
Full Disclosure means to disclose all the details of a security problem which are known. It is a philosophy of security management completely opposed to the idea of security through obscurity.” Some viewers of our online show “Full Disclosure” have criticize us for “teaching people how to commit crimes.” That is not our intention at all! We are simply providing the information to teach people about a security problem. It is up to the viewer to decide what they want to do with the information. Also, if we do not know a problem exists how can we begin to protect against that problem? Lastly, computer security is a hobby of ours and of many of our viewers. We enjoy learning about security issues, picking apart a system, hacking, and lock picking just for fun and not for malicious reasons.

P.S. We use “Lock picking” to categorize our videos. It doesn’t mean that video is about lock picking exactly, but some method of unlocking some type of lock. There will be lock picking episodes in the future to show the basics for picking a lock.

Upping Production Value

August 27th, 2007 by Tho
I’ve become really interested in making some upcoming episodes of Full Disclosure with a much higher quality / production value. It really makes me happy to see such positive feedback of the IE videos, because that means to me that you really enjoy the content, sense they are practically $0 budget videos. Right now I’m starting to look into methods of acquiring higher quality cameras and possibly even getting into real studios for the non-field parts of videos. There are still quite a few episodes that have already so you won’t be seeing this in any of the upcoming vids. I hope we can get a clean video out with the methods I’m describing sometime in October, with the soonest time being in mid-late September.

Let me know what you think of this, if this is even something you’re interested in or think we should spend time on attempting.

August 3rd, 2007 by Patchy
Nox and I are hanging out at Quakecon in Dallas, Texas this weekend! We’ve been staying awake playing Quake Wars Beta 2 in the BYOC pretty much nonstop since Wednesday when we made the 14 hour trip down here! If you guys aren’t familiar with Quakecon it a weekend convention that focuses on Id games like Quake 3 & 4, ET:QW, Doom 3, etc. There various tournaments, events (Sinus Show!), and give aways to attend. The BYOC (Bring your own computer) is a huge LAN Party with about 3,000 people! If you happen to be at Quakecon this weekend you can find Nox and I HERE

While we are here we are going to try to do a video on SSH Tunneling to protect your info at a con!
