Wow, why is this so hard? The server ip is the ip address of the computer that you are running the server on, obviously. You must use the external IP address not the internal NAT ip address. Also, you most have port forwarding on your router enabled.

Wow, 19 comments on this and still no resolution. I just tried this tutorial and get the same error everyone else does. What are we supposed to put in for the server ip address. I tried my ip address it didn’t work, so I assume that we don’t put our own address in there.

I get to the part where I launch my server and after typing in, “net start “Openssh server” it spits out, “System Error 5 has occurred. Access is denied”. Any ideas?

the ip of the server is the ip of the computer you setup the SSH Server on. use http://www.ip-adress.com to find out your public ip address

how do u figure what the ip of the server is? is it the same a the ip of the computer?
