Hallo hallo, Ive been in the market for a enw laptop for quite sometime but Im sadly very very very short on funds. So that got me wondering of a way to help myself AND others. I was wondering if anyone could post their thoughts or methods of obtaining lots of cheap and effective hardware and computers? Im calling on those expert computer scavengers out there to share their knowledge with the sadly un-scavengly-skilled :/

So, where do/would you obtain YOUR cheap computer gear?

Ill start by saying the common one of using craigslist to find good comps from stupid peopled who borked their windows 7 OS while trying to load it :) (working on making a trade for such a thing)

Before you ask a question read this: http://freeworld.thc.org/root/docs/smart-questions.html it will make your life and everyone else's life easier.

Hey guys.  I've seen some posts on here about getting computers and computer stuff.  I'm big into buying and fixing computers and then selling them.  Here are some great places to look: shopgoodwill.com  You have to bid on these computers but some of them are real good desktops and laptops.  You would be suprised at the good stuff people give away.  I suggest before you bid on any of these computers click on the image and see what they say is wrong with them.  Don't bid on anything that may be over your head to fix or cost you alot of money to fix.  Remember you want to get good computers for cheap.  I stalk craigslist daily.  Alot of people need money fast giving up good computers for cheap.  I'd jump on it.  I just got my laptop on there for 140 and the very next day a guy had one for 50 bucks.  Someone got to it before I did.  Also when I'm driving around I look for computers people set out at the curb and ask them if I can have it alot of the time they say yes.  Some are junk I just get the parts out of them.  But some are real good.  People wiill get rid of good computers that have viruses or just seem to be running slow to them.  And they run out and get a new one.  And the old one just needed a little tlc.  Ask neighboors and friends if they have any old computers they want to get rid of.  You'd be shocked at what people have and don't use it anymore and just give it to you.  Just some of my experience in computer hunting.  Most of the time I have about 9 computers in my house up and running.  Sometimes more.  Good luck hunting.  Wink
