Love all the eps so far, loved the phone phreaking (gonna build one soon enough). It is probably off subject completely but how about divulging some info about some tekky-computer pranks to pull on roomates etc. Also I was wondering if you guys were going to do the magnetic strip thingy any time soon. If you have any basic info on any of these off the top of your head or whatever Id love to hear about! Keep up the awesome work! Im learning a lot! (More so than in any college class I should say)

lol thanks man!
Hmmm let me think about some pranks I did last year at college.. Well most likely your roommate will have a PC with Windows XP Home Edition and no nothing about computers, so if he has a password on his account you can bypass it by going into safe mode (press F8 when computer boots and choice safe mode) logging into the Administrator account (that is not password protected by default LOL) and removing his password through the control panel or cmd (w/ the command "net user [username] *"). Next you can set a new password so he can't login or change his wallpaper to something weird or etc. Also, a good prank is to block facebook with the hosts file… Goto C:windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts and adding
"127.0.0.1 http://www.facebook.com" to the file (or you can add a porn sites ip address instead of 127.0.0.1). Now his computer will check the host file first for the DNS of http://www.facebook.com and return the localhost ip; thus, blocking him from going to facebook (do that to a girl like I did and they will flip shit because they can't get their facebook fix!!! LOL). If you don't have physical access to the computer you can do a DNS redirect attack with Ettercap (we will be make a video on that soon). Well that all the ideas I have right now but if anyone else has any fun pranks they should post them here!!!
We are working on the magnetic strip video we have already perfected how to make a mag reader for basically nothing we are just working on getting the software to work.

hah, it works perfectly(tested out on my computer), but is there any way to undo it? Because I already tried just erasing what I put in the hosts file and saving, but it still goes to whatever I changed it to in the first place. Here's what happened. I changed it so google.com would goto youtube.com instead. I saved it, it worked good. Now, I tried erasing the line I just put in and saved it. It didn't work as google.com still goes to youtube.com. I even tried making it so google.com would goto http://www.google.com(they have different IP addresses and http://www.google.com still works). But it still didn't work. Any help would be good, thanks. And another thing, love the videos you guys have, they're very informational as well as cool, looking forward to the DNS redirect attack video, keep it up.

Try just restarting your computer or "repairing" your internet connection both of those should clear the DNS cache.

Sorry to bring up this old topic on pranks. but i'm a new member and this worked great for my schools computer lab.
what I did was downloaded a BSOD simulation screen saver, set it to go off after 10 minutes, and disabled mouse movement to stop screen saver in the properties of it. what this screen saver does.. is simulates the boot process, and fails to bsod, simulates the whole procedure and continues to do it. right down to when rebooting to show activity on the floppy drive(if you have one still lol).
then I went to the system32 folder and renamed the desk.cpl file to something other than that, so i knew it as a backup, and what this does is disables the display properties. so you cant get in and change the screensaver if you wanted too ;)
next day.. all hell broke loose, comp techs couldnt figure it out. noone could. had that day of class off, and I was in pretty good with the teacher, told him the comp techs here are retarded. have to press Esc to stop the screen saver. noone could figure that out. anyways.. fun times fun times.
